Today, Mrs. Rezan Kader received the visit of the Vice President of
the IV Defense Commission at the Chamber of Deputies, Hon. Massimo
Artini.
The talks focused on the current situation in the Kurdistan Region of
the fight against the terrorists of ISIS, the severe humanitarian
crisis, the urgent needs of the KRG on the humanitarian, military,
medical field and the reconstruction of areas destroyed by terrorists
of ISIS, like Shangal. Mrs. Kader invited Hon. Artini to put pressure
on the Parliament to ensure that the Italian government can intervene
even more in order to meet those demands and that also put pressure at
European level, being the situation in Kurdistan unsustainable.
The Hon. Artini will try to give a concrete follow-up to those
requests presented today by Mrs. Kader, as well as previously notified
by herself during hearings at the Senate of the Republic, through
parliamentary questions.
Moreover, he would be honoured to organize a mission in Kurdistan in
the near future, along with the defense committee of the Senate in
order to verify the needs on the ground and provide as much support as
possible to the peshmerga forces, the Kurdish people but also to the
Italian soldiers based in Erbil.
