

Today Mrs. Kader met Mons. Camilleri, undersecretary for relations
with states of the Vatican Secretariat of State to the Holy See, and
Msgr. Yonut Strejac militant of the Vatican secretariat of state.
The talks focused on the current situation in the Kurdistan Region
and the situation of refugees, in particular Christians, relations
with Turkey and relations with the central government in Baghdad.
Mrs.
Kader has called for greater humanitarian support, however thanking
the Holy See to what has been done until now, with the hope that the
Holy Father may eventually go to Kurdistan in order to bring a
message of solidarity and support to refugees and displaced persons
on the territory.
Msgr. Camilleri thanked the KRG for the
enormous sacrifices they are facing, reiterating the Holy See's
commitment to supporting the country in all its needs.
