
Today Mrs. Rezan Kader participated in the conference "Creating
Sustainable Businesses in Mediterranean Countries. Theories, Tools and
Success Stories" as part of the "EXPO Milano 2015" at the headquarters
of the Lombardy Region in Milan.
The Conference, which was attended by numerous local and European
authorities, including representatives of the European Parliament in
Brussels and Milan, the Director of ICE (the Italian Institute for
Foreign Trade) in Milan, representatives of the Lombardy Region and
the City of Milan, the Italian President of the UN Women, Ms. Simone
Ovart, and representatives of EBN (European Network of BIC - Business
and Innovation Centres), has brought together researchers,
entrepreneurs, professionals and startuppers interested in starting a
joint research project directed to the development of principles and
operational tools on creating businesses that are sustainable in the
Mediterranean region.
Particular emphasis was given to the enhancement of women's
entrepreneurship, which is gaining more and more space in the
international environment.
In this regard, the intervention of Mrs. Kader focused not only on
presentation of the Region of Kurdistan, its opportunities for
investment and growth, but also on the fundamental role of women in
Kurdish society, at the political, business and social level, but
increasingly, in the light of current events, at the military level,
playing a very active role in the body of the peshmerga.
