Today, Dr. Rezan Kader received a visit from the Vice President of the Fourth Defense Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, Massimo Artini.
The discussions focused on the current situation in the Kurdistan Region, the fight against ISIS terrorists, the ongoing serious humanitarian crisis, and the KRG's pressing humanitarian, military, and healthcare needs, as well as the reconstruction of areas destroyed by terrorists, such as Shangal. Dr. Kader urged Artini to pressure Parliament so that the Italian Government can step up its efforts to meet these requests and to also apply pressure at the European level, given that the situation in Kurdistan has become unsustainable.
Artini will seek concrete follow-up to the requests presented today by Dr. Kader, as already announced by her during hearings at the Senate, through parliamentary questions. Furthermore, he would be happy to organize a mission on site in the near future, together with the Senate Defense Committee, to assess local needs and provide the greatest possible support to the Peshmerga, the Kurdish people, and also to the Italian soldiers based in Erbil.
