
Today, Dr. Kader was invited to lunch by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Italy, Aydın Adnan Sezgin, accompanied by Counselor Tugba Alan, at the Turkish Embassy.
The discussions focused on the current situation in the Kurdistan Region, including the ongoing economic and financial crisis, the evolution of the resistance against ISIS terrorists, relations with the central government, and relations with neighboring countries, particularly the existing friendship and mutual cooperation with Turkey.
Dr. Kader expressed to the Ambassador the need for additional economic, financial, and military support from the international community to address the fight against ISIS and the humanitarian emergency there.
The Ambassador expressed his solidarity and support for the Kurdistan Region. He praised the role of the Kurdistan Regional Government in the fight against terrorism and in stabilizing the region. She emphasized the need for stronger action, especially from the United States, and appreciated Italy's military and humanitarian role on the ground. It is essential to proceed as quickly as possible with the liberation of Mosul and allow the return of thousands of families to their homes.
Dr. Kader added that the Holy See is also playing a crucial role, sending delegations, supporting the work of Christian-Catholic NGOs, and establishing a local Catholic University that will serve as a point of reference in the field of education not only for Christians but for all young people regardless of their ethnic or religious affiliation, with the aim of restoring peace and stability in the region.
The meeting concluded with the hope of further intensifying relations between the respective countries and diplomatic missions in the political, economic, and cultural fields, and with Ambassador Aydın Adnan Sezgin's wish to visit the KRG representative office in Italy as soon as possible.
