Today, the High Representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Italy, Mrs. Rezan Kader came outside the House of Deputies along with several Italian parliamentarians to report what is happening in the Kurdistan Region by the central government of Baghdad.
Present at Piazza Montecitorio: the President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, Fabrizio Cicchitto; the President of the Human Rights Commission at the Senate, Luigi Manconi, the Vice-President of the Human Rights Commission at the Senate, Riccardo Mazzoni, the Quaestor Senator Lucio Malan, Sen. Mario Mauro, Hon. Umberto D'Ottavio and Hon. Gianluca Pini.
Parliamentarians urged the Italian government as well as the countries of the international community to intervene in concrete terms to halt this systematic violation of human rights against the Kurdish people, perpetrated by Shiite militants Hasd Al Shabi and Iranian pasdaran in support of the Iraqi federal police. The Italian Government, as a dear friend and historical ally of the Kurdish people, must foster dialogue with the central government in respecting the rights of Kurds and above all recognize to the people and their valorous peshmergas the deserved acknowledgement conquered in the struggle against ISIS.
